ABOUT VIPER Traditional Bows

 

Viper Traditional Bows are dedicated to manufacturing the highest quality and unique custom made traditional bows available in Australia.

We have over forty years of archery experience at all levels in the sport, hunting, field archery and target archery having extensive experience with hunting and having competed at State, National and International level including World Championships. We have taken our extensive experience in the design of every bow.

While keeping with the traditions of bow making we design our bows for maximum performance and accuracy spending that extra time to provide you with the ultimate in traditional equipment. The end result is a unique custom bow which blends performance, speed and accuracy with craftsmanship and meets the demands of the discriminating traditional archer.

We are also developing a range of traditional recurve bows; we have taking popular recurve bow designs of the past and are developing modern versions of these bows.

We carefully blend a combination of domestic and exotic timbers to make distinctive and unique handle designs, every bow is an individual and finished with your choice of Black, Brown or Clear Gordon Bow Tuff fibreglass. Limbs can be laminated from your choice of timbers (Rock Maple, Blackwood, Tasmanian Myrtle, Celery Top Pine or Red Elm) or bamboo. Laminations are tapered with either .0001 or .0002 tapers.

Your bow can be finished with your choice of Satin, High Gloss or Oil Finish. We don’t fit leather on the grip as we feel it not only deters from the accuracy when shooting but also hides the finish and beauty of the timber laminations, although it can be fitted if required.

Our longbows are made with traditional sight windows or can be made to comply with FITA longbow rules which means you can compete in international and Archery Australia recognised tournaments.

We also manufacture longbows in various lengths to increase performance and fit each archer’s personal requirements; bow lengths available are 70” (draw lengths 30” plus), 68” (draw lengths 28” to 30”), 66” (draw lengths 26” to 28”), 64”(draw lengths 24” to 26”), and 60” (draw lengths under 24”). We can also manufacture longbows in junior lengths 54” or 52”

We also offer a variety of limb designs to suit all requirements.

All bows come with distinctive reinforced tips as well as non stretch Fast flight bow strings.
